Perpendicular pipe flow from below into a channel at low Reynolds number. The inflow through the lower pipe has speed 1. The resulting flow is symmetric and steady. This simulation has to be compared with the similar ones in the Album, including higher Reynolds number.


  • Distribution of temperature/concentration via Boussinesq model

    Visualization via tracing of concentration, starting from the lower inlet (first and second, different color maps, 1.4 MB and 2.1 MB, third as a zoom, 1.5 MB).

  • Pressure

    Visualization via pressure plots, shaded (first, 0.9 MB) and via isolines (second and third, as zoom, 4.2 MB and 3.6 MB).

  • Streamfunction

    Visualization via streamline plots, shaded (first, 1.1 MB) and via isolines (second and third, as zoom, 6.4 MB and 9.3 MB).

  • Velocity

    Visualization via vector plots (vectors, 13.2 MB). The zoomed area is visualized in the original position of the grid points.
