Perpendicular pipe flow into a channel at medium Reynolds number

Computational details
Short description and remarks

Short description and remarks

The perpendicular lower pipe flow into the channel at medium Reynolds number. The inflow through the lower pipe has speed 1. The resulted flow is symmetric, but nonsteady. This simulation has to be compared with the similar ones in the Album, including lower and higher Reynolds number.

  • Distribution of temperature/concentration via Boussinesq model

Visualization via tracing of concentration, starting from the lower inlet (first and second, different color maps, 1.6 MB and 2.5 MB, third as a zoom, 3.2 MB).

  • Pressure

Visualization via pressure plots, shaded (first, 1.2 MB) and via isolines (second and third, as zoom, 3.4 MB and 7.3 MB).

  • Streamfunction

Visualization via streamline plots, shaded (first, 1.2 MB) and via isolines (second and third, as zoom, 6.9 MB and 8.8 MB).

  • Velocity

Visualization via vector plots (vectors, 9.7 MB) in a zoomed area.
