Channel flow with two opposite symmetric bumps at medium Reynolds number (different heigth)

Computational details
Short description and remarks

Short description and remarks

Channel flow with two narrowing sections at medium Reynolds number, starting from rest. Both bumps are symmetric and opposite, but the height of the lower bump is 0.36, while the upper bump has width 0.34. The flow shows a nonperiodical behaviour, mostly with a preferred flow direction upwards.

  • Distribution of temperature/concentration via Boussinesq model

Visualization via distribution of the concentration in the flow field, starting from the inlet, but with different color maps (first, shaded, 2.4 MB, second, shaded, 3.1 MB).

  • Pressure

Visualization via pressure plots, shaded (first, 1.8 MB) and via isolines (second, 5.6 MB).

  • Streamfunction

Visualization via streamline plots, shaded (first, 2.5 MB) and via isolines (second, 6.5 MB).

  • Velocity

Visualization via vector plots (17.9 MB).
