Engineering point of view:

'Shell and Tube'-Heat-Exchanger are widely spread in the field of chemical engineering. Still it is not clear how to arrange the tubes inside the appartus in order to get a optimal heat-transfer-behaviour. Beginnig from a simple configuration with only one tube we studied cases for 2x2 upto 5x5 tube arrangemnets for constant circumference as well as constant area.
My task is fluid flow calucation in square of 4 units with 5 circles in a row accounting  to 25 circles as a total number . The  circles are of  0.3 radii. The circles are  placed at equidistant from each other and the frist circle in the configuration is located at x=0.667 and y=0.667.

Mathematical point of view:

We studied a 2D cut plane of the above described apparatus.Fluid flow calkculation in square of 4 units with 25 circles of radii 0.3, frist circle is located x=0.667 and y=0.667 and all circles are located at equiditant.The calculations starts from the rest. The flow is observed with the reynolds number, Re=1000.The simulation is part of a software-praktikum at the university of Dortmund in 2004.
