'Wedge Shaped'-Hopper are widely spread in the field of chemical and mechanical engineering. Hopper comes in different shapes and sizes. The Hopper has two geometric characteristics namely the half-angle and the outlet dimensions. We studied cases with different half angle and outlet dimensions of hopper.
This page contains the 2D simulation of flow in a hopper with hopper half-angle = 35 degress, inlet radius =1.1 and outlet radius =0.1 . The calculation starts from rest. The flow is observed with the Reynolds. This simulation is part of a Software-Praktikum at the University of Dortmund in 2004.
