'Wedge-Shaped'-Hoppers are widely spread in the field of chemical engineering and mechanical engineering.Hoppers come in different shapes and sizes.The hopper has two geometric characteristics namely t he half-angle and the outlet dimension.We studied cases with different half-angle and outlet dimensions of the hopper.
This page contains the 2D simulation of flows in a hopper with hopper half-angle=50 degrees,Inlet radius=1.25,outlet radius=0.25. The calculation starts from rest.The flow is observed with the Reynolds Number 1000.This simulation is part of a Software-Praktikum at the University of Dortmund in 2004.
